Composition on "Obedience to Parents"

Parents are the greatest blessing of God. Obedience to parents deserves no explanation. It is our duty to obey our parents, that is, to do always what they tell us to do. All that we have is given to us by our parents - food, clothing and education. They tend us when we are too young to do anything for ourselves.

They watch over us in time of sickness, provide for our amusement, teach us the principles of their religion, and guard us from evil influences. Obedience is a very simple way of showing gratitude for these benefits. It is a way that is well within the reach of the young infant as well as the full-grown son. It can be put into practice easily.

Parents are not only the providers of benefits, but are the guides of their children in all the relations of life. There may be cases where a father and a mother prove themselves unworthy of their children's regard; but it is usually found that parents are as solicitous for their children's well-fare as their own.

Being adults and having experience of the world, they are in a position to form better judgments than their children. Therefore not only is it the duty of a child to obey his parents, but in doing so he is consulting his best interest. Just as the boy who would learn to read must attend to the instruction of his teacher, so those who wish to grow up into honest and useful men must follow the dictate of their parents. The captain, when entering a strange port, trusts to the pilot to tide his ship safely. Our parents are our pilots. We sail in strange waters, and our safety depends on submission to the directions of those who are more experience. We are not always well-advised in our choice of companion. When the time comes for us to decide what trade or profession we are to follow, when misunderstanding and perplexities arise, then our parents step in and say that this thing or that thing should be done; and it is our duty to obey them.

On the other hand examples of disobedient sons and daughters are but too common in this world, and very regrettable have often been the results of this disobedience. In former times, among the Romans, it was considered a serious crime, and the father might, if he was not minded punish it by death. One of the Ten Commandments given by God to the Jews was: "Honour the fate=her and thy mother, that the days may belong in this land which the Lord thy mother, that the days may be long in this land which the Lord gives these." Disobedience is base ingratitude, and one of the greatest cruelties a child can inflict upon a parent who has toiled for years his sake, and lavished upon him all his affections, regardless of self.

Important Paragraph for Class VI and VII

A Railway station

A Railway station plays an important role in the system of train communication of a country. It is a place where trains stop to take in and to d rop down passengers and goods. If it is a big station, it remains busy almost all the time of the day and night. Every station has one or more platforms for the passengers in order to facilitate them to get into or to get down from the train. In every station there is at least a building that usually made of red bricks which is called station house. The building has several rooms which are used as a booking office, ticket counters, and waiting rooms for passengers. Besides, there are rooms for stationmaster rooms for officer on duty and so on. The stationmaster is all in all in a station. He is assisted by number of other staffs, railway police and guards. The passengers willing to travel by train collect their tickets from the ticket counter. The ticket counter generally opens half an hour before the arrival of the train. When a train arrives the whole station area turns into a noisy place. Some passengers hurry to get down from the train, at the same time passengers waiting for the trains want to get into it. As a result, a collision of two groups of passengers often takes place. In this time coolies are also found busy carrying luggage’s of the passengers. As soon as the train leaves, the station sinks into silence and turns into a deserted place.

School Magazine

A school magazine is a periodical published by the students and the teachers of a school. The aim of this publication is to encourage young learners to flourish their dormant talents and creative faculties. It contains stories, poems, articles, jokes written by students and teachers. Different school activities, which earn name and fame of the school, are also published with colorful pictures. For publishing a magazine a committee is formed. Under the guidance of a teacher, some selected students work as editor and designer. They collect different articles from the students and select on basis of artistic excellence to be published in the magazine. It needs a lot of efforts of the students and teachers to publish a magazine and while doing it the students learn how to work in a team. The young writers get immense pleasure and confidence when they can see their writings in print. It encourages them to be a writer in future. They also preserve the magazine with great care as it portrays their own lives and they can carry the memory of their beloved school with it. So a school magazine bears great importance in every educational institution.

My First Day at School

Now I am in class VII but my first day at the school is still fresh in my memory because the day was difficult and also enjoyable for me. The date was 8th January when I was given admission and got admitted in the school in class I. At that time I was six years old and I was going to school with my father in a rickshaw. After 20 minutes we reached out school gate. I was charmed to see the buildings, students and others of the school. After sometimes my father took me to the headmaster’s room. Gradually, my heart beat became fast. But his smiling face and gentle words put me at ease. He asked me my name and I told him my name. Then he pointed to a letter chart and asked me to say some letters. I could say them all. The headmaster then called a teacher to take me to my class. He welcomed me and gave me a seat in the class room. When I entered into the class everyone looked at me with great interest but they received me warmly. I felt very happy. After that period the boys of my class made fun of me and pulled my cheeks. I got annoyed and I told this to the teacher. She said that a brave boy always faced whatever came in his way so I shouldn’t cry. From this speech I got courage. Then I became quite normal and stopped crying. I even made a few friends and everything became all right. But 8th January I still remember, the first day at my school.

Composition on "My Childhood Memories"

The day gone is gone forever. Only memories remain in human mind. These memories make cry sometimes and make laugh sometimes. Nevertheless, we never can cut out them from life. For that reason, childhood memories are the sweetest in man’s life. I have also some childhood memories in my life.

Childhood memories are the sweetest time of human mind. My childhood memories are not les sweet. Nobody can forget his/her childhood memories whether pleasant or painful. I can still remember my childhood very much. I was born in a village named Nagpur under Nandail Upazila where I passed my childhood. Many things happened in my childhood days, but I cannot remember all of them. My father was a government employee. Ours was a simple house where I lived happily in the midst of my parents, sisters and brothers. There was another member in my family. She is my grandmother. She was very affectionate. She loved me most. I am shocked that I lost her a few years ago. Nevertheless, I am lucky that even now my father and mother are alive.

There is a ground in front of my house. Paddy and other crops are grown in the ground. The golden color of the paddy field attracted me much. Every afternoon after coming from school, I went to my playground through the paddy field. The paddy plants touched me. I got mixed in the midst of beauty of nature. I shall never forget those moments of my life. I can remember the happy days that passed with my friends. I often played with them. I could not forget the very first day at school. My heart began to faster when I was taken to the Headmaster. Nevertheless, he won my heart with his smiling face and gentle words. The teachers were very affectionate. My classmates were also very friendly. Every afternoon I played with them in the field. I have many sweet memories of these afternoons.

In the afternoon, I took part in games. Sometimes, my playmates and I arranged sports competition. The boys of far villages came to take part in games. Shahid, Karim, Zia, Shaukat, Suraj, Mohar were my close childhood friends and playmates. I shall never forget them and those days.
Another interesting memory of my childhood is going to village market. I used to go to the market with father. It was one of the biggest markets in our locality. There were many shops in the market. I returned home with a bag of bought things.

I still remember those days when I was learning to ride a bicycle. I fell and bruised myself several times but I never gave up. Finally, I was able to join my friends going around the neighbourhood on my bike.

My village primary school was also another interesting place. I used to go to school with my friends. We would learn our lessons with great noise.
However, I have a bitter experience of my childhood. Once I was sunk in our nearby canal when I was returning home from school by boat.

I feel delight when I remember the memories of my childhood. The days, the months, the years go away. My duties are increasing day by day. I always look for the days of my childhood. Nevertheless, I know that it is not possible to get back those days. Therefore, it should not kill present days thinking the past days. Because, past is always past.

Composition on "A Journey by Boat"

Introduction: A journey by boat is very pleasant as well as interesting. At the same time it is something like a thrilling adventure to man living in a city. Pent up in a noisy and crowded city like Dhaka, I naturally jumped at the suggestion of some of my friends’ contemplation for a journey by boat.

Time and preparation: It was the month of October, 2010. We made our journey from Dhaka Sadarghat to Munshigonj. We were six in number. We hired a large boat and made all possible preparation for this journey. The day was nice. The river was calm and quiet.

Description of the journey: We started our journey at 12 noon. The boatman began to row the boat and the boat was moving swiftly. Gentle breeze was blowing. The small waves were beating against it. The ripples of the river made a sweet murmuring sound. While passing through, we enjoyed the beautiful sights on both the sides of the river. At about 3 p.m. our boat touches the ghat of a village market. We got down from the boat and bought a large ‘Hilsha fish’. The boatman cooked it and we had a nice meal. After resting for a while we started our journey again. Then the evening came with all its beauties and glories. The last rays of the setting sun reflected on the calm water that enhanced the beauty or the river more affluently. We got on the roof of the boat and enjoyed the grand sight of the nature. The crimson rays of the setting sun added to the beauty of the green fields charmed us. After seven hours, journey we reached Munshigonj ghat at about 6 p.m. Some of our friends were waiting for us at the ghat. They accorded us a hearty reception.

The return journey: We spent a happy time with them. After a lapse of about two hours we again got into the boat and started our journey. Our return journey was equally pleasant. The boat was passing very gently. It was a moon-lit night. All my friends came out of the boat and sat on the roof. The moon’s beam flooded the whole river and filled it with uncommon beauty. Out of joy one of my friends began singing a sweet song. I thought I was in a dream land where only joy and beauty reign. The boatman also began to sing:-
“Row, row, row, the boat, gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream”.
When the night advanced, we entered into the cabin and lie down and fell asleep. The next morning when we woke up it was just daylight. Our boat reached the Sadarghat. We got down from the boat. Thus, our journey by boat finished to a happy end.

Conclusion: The journey by boat is really a pleasant one. It provides us a lot thrill and pleasure that cannot be described but to be felt only. Such a pleasure of a journey which we undertook will never efface from memory. Really this journey by boat will supply us serene delight for all time to come.
