The name of my home town is Kishoreganj. It is a district headquarter and is only 145 kilometers north-east of Dhaka. The name Kishoreganj comes from the name of an old landlord known as Brojakishore Pramanik or Nandakishore Pramanik.
The district consists of 8 municipalities, 13 upazilas, 110 unions and 1794 villages. The area of Kishoreganj town is 19.57 square kilometer. The river Narasunda flows across the town. There are many important places in and around this small town. You can see the largest Eid ground known as Solakia Eid Ground, the Pagla Mosque and the well-known Govt. Gurudayal College here. If you go out of the town, you will see the fort of Isah khan at Jangal Bari, the Shah Muhammad mosque at Egaroshindhur and the Shiva temple of Chandrabati on the bank of Fuleshwari river.
Kishoreganj is also famous as the home of some important personalities. The first woman poet of Bangla literature Chandrabati was born her. Sayed Nazrul Islam, the first acting President of Bangladesh is also from this town.
Two popular writers of children literature Upendro Kishore Roy Chowdhury and Sukumar Roy are also from here. The great master of painting Zainul Abedin also comes from Kishoreganj.

Bangladesh is a small country. But she has a rich natural beauty and variety. There are six seasons in Bangladesh. They are the summer, rainy, autumn, late autumn, winter and spring season. Each season has a special look. Summer is the first season of the year taking the Bangla months Boishakh and Jyoishtha. Various kinds of juicy fruits ripe in this season. Mangoes, Jackfruits, Lichis, Melon, Watermelon are very common among them. Then comes the rainy season taking Ashar and Sravan. It rains heavily and the sky remains cloudy always in this season. Vadra and Ashwin make the autumn season. The sky remains clear and blue. While clouds like cotton fly in the endless sky. Then comes the season of ‘Nabanno’, late autumn. The paddy fields take golden colour with golden paddy. The farmers are very busy in this season for harvesting. Nabanno festivals go on in every house of the villages with new rice. Poush and Magh are the months of winter. Various kinds of pithas are made in this season. Days are very short and nights are very long. The poor suffer much from cold and burn dry leaves and straw to get warm. Delicious vegetables grow in this season. It is the scason of fog. Spring is the best of all seasons. Falgun and Chaitra are the months of spring. Tress get new leaves and flowers. The sweet song of the cuckoo is heard. In this way the six seasons cycle all the year round in Bangladesh.
